When I became a Christian at age 30, I was hungry for God.
It transformed my life, and there was nothing I wanted to do more than to spend time in his presence.
In John 17, it says:
Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, and I wanted to know Him.
Fortunately, I had my own business and I had a lot of flexibility around being able to spend hours in the Word, which I loved to do.
Then, within a little over 2 years, I got married, had our first child, and then proceeded to have another six children close together.
So, life got busy, and it became a struggle to spend lengthy, quality time with the Lord.
In his fabulous book 'The Pursuit of God', A.W. Tozer says:
'It is inherent in personality to be able to know other personalities, but full knowledge of one personality by another cannot be achieved in one encounter. It is only after long and loving mental intercourse that the full possibilities of both can be explored'.
I'm one of those people who needs a long time to enjoy the Lord.
I remember when I first got saved, I would often get up on a Saturday morning at 6:00 a.m. and begin to read my Bible, and I would still be going at midday.
But when I got married, that almost never happened.
I did try to slip away for a day or two on my own to be with the Lord, which I loved.
Despite all this, I noticed a trend in the busyness of life - that I would forget to include God in many decisions and activities. And it bothered me.
Then one day, when I was reading the book of Deuteronomy, the Lord showed me how many times he had to remind his people to 'remember Him', using words like 'Do not forget' repeatedly.
I felt the Lord prompt me to produce some products that could be used daily as constant reminders to include Him in everything we do.
